PLN Tools: Challenge 1

Subscribe to 3-5 blogs, websites, or news sources on your RSS Reader.
Comment on a post you found helpful in the discussion forum.

Information Aggregation: RSS Readers

Before you begin tip: Bookmark each of the tools in this e-Course for easy access to them from your web browser. If you use Google Chrome, it automatically syncs your bookmarks on all of your devices.

RSS (Really Simple Syndication) feeds allow material from one website (i.e., New York Times Education Column) to be read on other websites (i.e., Feedly). RSS readers use RSS feeds to collect new posts, articles and updates from websites that you identify as valuable and “push” this information to you via the RSS reader. RSS readers will save you time since you no longer have to visit each individual website and check for updates. You can rapidly skim through hundreds of articles in RSS readers and click on the ones that are most interesting or useful to visit the website where the post originated and read the entire text.
